Confirmed: U.S. Armed Al Qaeda to Topple Libya’s Gaddaffi

The U.S. “Switched Sides” to Support Al Qaeda
We reported in 2012 that the U.S. supported Al Qaeda in Libya in its effort to topple Gadaffi:
The U.S. supported opposition which overthrew Libya’s Gadaffi was largely comprised of Al Qaeda terrorists.
According to a 2007 report by West Point’s Combating Terrorism Center’s center, the Libyan city of Benghazi was one of Al Qaeda’s main headquarters – and bases for sending Al Qaeda fighters into Iraq – prior to the overthrow of Gaddafi:

The Hindustan Times reported last year:
“There is no question that al Qaeda’s Libyan franchise, Libyan Islamic Fighting Group, is a part of the opposition,” Bruce Riedel, former CIA officer and a leading expert on terrorism, told Hindustan Times.
It has always been Qaddafi’s biggest enemy and its stronghold is Benghazi.
Al Qaeda is now largely in control of Libya.  Indeed, Al Qaeda flags were flown over the Benghazi courthouse once Gaddafi was toppled.
(Incidentally, Gaddafi was on the verge of invading Benghazi in 2011, 4 years after the West Point report cited Benghazi as a hotbed of Al Qaeda terrorists. Gaddafi claimed – rightly it turns out – that Benghazi was an Al Qaeda stronghold and a main source of the Libyan rebellion.  But NATO planes stopped him, and protected Benghazi.)
The Daily Mail reported yesterday:
A self-selected group of former top military officers, CIA insiders and think-tankers, declared Tuesday in Washington that a seven-month review of the deadly 2012 terrorist attack has determined that it could have been prevented – if the U.S. hadn’t been helping to arm al-Qaeda militias throughout Libya a year earlier.
‘The United States switched sides in the war on terror with what we did in Libya, knowingly facilitating the provision of weapons to known al-Qaeda militias and figures,’ Clare Lopez, a member of the commission and a former CIA officer, told MailOnline.
She blamed the Obama administration for failing to stop half of a $1 billion United Arab Emirates arms shipment from reaching al-Qaeda-linked militants.
‘Remember, these weapons that came into Benghazi were permitted to enter by our armed forces who were blockading the approaches from air and sea,’ Lopez claimed. ‘They were permitted to come in. … [They] knew these weapons were coming in, and that was allowed..
‘The intelligence community was part of that, the Department of State was part of that, and certainly that means that the top leadership of the United States, our national security leadership, and potentially Congress – if they were briefed on this – also knew about this.’
***
‘The White House and senior Congressional members,’ the group wrote in an interim report released Tuesday, ‘deliberately and knowingly pursued a policy that provided material support to terrorist organizations in order to topple a ruler [Muammar Gaddafi] who had been working closely with the West actively to suppress al-Qaeda.’
‘Some look at it as treason,’ said Wayne Simmons, a former CIA officer who participated in the commission’s research.
The same thing is happening in Syria. The U.S. “switched sides” and is supporting our arch enemy Al Qaeda.
Specifically, the Benghazi “embassy” became the CIA headquarters for transferring – after Gaddaffi fell – weapons in Libya to the Syrian Al Qaeda rebels, as confirmed by Pulitzer prize winning reporter Sy Hersh.

Obama Implicitly Compares Himself to Pope and Jesus in Tribute Message

Trey Sanchez
Truth Revolt
April 25, 2014
President Obama added his voice to Time‘s list of “The 100 Most Influential People” by penning atribute to Pope Francis. By implication, Obama associated himself with the pontiff and ultimately to Jesus.
042514lordobama
Obama called the pope “a moral leader in word and deed,” equating Francis’s message of inclusion with Jesus’s “essence.” Sprinkled within this panegyric was Obama’s own familiar refrain heard throughout his presidency: “alleviate poverty…reduce inequality…open new doors of opportunity and visions of possibility for everyone.”
Obama’s social agenda is nothing he has kept secret. Nor has the president ever shied away from comparing himself to other influential leaders: LincolnGandhi, Mandela, or Reagan. In 2008, candidate Obama compared himself to John F. Kennedy with another familiar refrain saying, “Kennedy moved the country in a fundamentally different direction…I think we are in one of those fundamentally different times right now.”
Here is Obama’s full entry to Time:
Rare is the leader who makes us want to be better people. Pope Francis is such a leader.
His Holiness has moved us with his message of inclusion, especially for the poor, the marginalized and the outcast. But it has been his deeds, his bearing, the gestures at once simple and profound — embracing the sick, ministering to the homeless, washing the feet of young prisoners — that have inspired us all.
Pope Francis reminds us in ways that words alone cannot that no matter our station in life, we are bound by moral obligations to one another. His example challenges us to live out those obligations through work — to alleviate poverty, reduce inequality and promote peace; to feed the hungry, shelter the homeless, care for the sick and open new doors of opportunity and visions of possibility for everyone. His message of love and inclusion, his regard for “the least of these,” distills the essence of Jesus’ teachings and is a tonic for a cynical age. May we heed his humble example.

The Defense Clandestine Service (DCS) sound awful sinister to me!

The Ground Report
April 24, 2014

Defense Clandestine Service or DCS has been compared with a militarized CIA. What it is exactly is hard to say for sure, we are not even allowed to know basic information like how many personnel is staffing the service and how much it costs?
Defense Clandestine Service or DCS has been compared with a militarized CIA. What it is exactly is hard to say for sure, we are not even allowed to know basic information like how many personnel is staffing the service and how much it costs?
As a reporter when you try and get information as a reporter on the Defense Clandestine Service (DCS) it is very hard to do.
Even basic questions like how many military personnel are staffing the new agency is apparently a secret, because nobody is saying.
We do know the DCS is an intelligence agency of the Department of Defense – call it a militarized Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) for lack of a better term.
It was announced on 23 April 2012 by the Pentagon to increase spyingoperations against high-priority targets such as Iran , China, Russia, under an intelligence reorganization aimed at expanding on the military’s espionage efforts “beyond war zones.”
The new spy service will supposedly work closely with the CIA, and other spy agencies in an effort to increase espionage operations overseas.
The plan was hatched in response to a “classified study” completed in 2011 by the Director of National Intelligence that concluded that the military’s espionage efforts needed to be more focused on major targets “beyond the tactical considerations of Iraq and Afghanistan.”
While the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) was effectively conducting its traditional, and much larger, mission of providing intelligence to troops and commanders in war zones, it needed to focus more attention on “outside the battlefields” . On what is called “national intelligence” – gathering and distributing information on global issues and sharing that intelligence with other agencies.
This is apparently where the DCS come in (see article: Defense Department Plans New Intelligence Gathering Service http://www.nytimes.com/2012/04/24/world/asia/defense-department-plans-new-spy-service.html?_r=1 ).
If it sounds confusing it is. The DIA and DCS will basically act to compliment each other.
The “realignment” as it is sometimes called is expected to affect several hundred military operatives who already work in spying assignments abroad, mostly as case officers for the DIA, which serves as the Pentagon’s main source of human intelligence and analysis.
Agents for the new Pentagon spy service will work out of U.S. Embassies and from military bases and outposts all over the world. It is unclear if they will be working under official cover or non official cover or both?
The new service is expected to increase from several hundred to almost a thousand operatives in the coming years.
How much will all this cost?
Nobody really knows for sure. Estimate range all over the place, depending on who you ask, anywhere from a few hundred million to a $1 billion or more?
That is also part of the problem.
At a time of budget cutbacks, particularly in the military, it’s unclear how the Defense Department has been able to shuffle around the money to afford a new agency.
The Pentagon of course, refused to get into specifics saying only that the so-called “Defense Clandestine Service” wouldn’t involve “significant new resource requirements.” But if that was the case why won’t it admit its cost? It simply doesn’t make any sense…
What we know so far is that about “15% of the DIA’s case officers will be part of the Defense Clandestine Service.”
Others will be recruited from other agencies and from the U.S. military services directly”, according to one source at the Pentagon.
The new military spy agency is authorized to conduct a broad level of espionage, including clandestine operations in the field.
Rumors indicate it will not be restricted like the CIA which cannot spy on Americans athome.
The creation of a new espionage unit by the Pentagon called the Defense Clandestine Service is driven by a “desire to continue a policy of aggression around the world and destabilization” by the U.S., says Webster Tarpley (see video: Webster Tarpley on the Pentagon’s Defense Clandestine Servicehttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U56vU1ZugVw ).

My question is do we really need another spy service?
Apparently the answer according to the Pentagon is “yes”.

Exactly Like 7 Years Ago? 2014 Is Turning Out To Be Eerily Similar To 2007

Economic Collapse
April 24, 2014
The similarities between 2007 and 2014 continue to pile up.  As you are about to see, U.S. home sales fell dramatically throughout 2007 even as the mainstream media, our politicians and Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernankepromised us that everything was going to be just fine and that we definitely were not going to experience a recession.  Of course we remember precisely what followed.
It was the worst economic crisis since the days of the Great Depression.  And you know what they say – if we do not learn from history we are doomed to repeat it.  Just like seven years ago, the stock market has soared to all-time high after all-time high.  Just like seven years ago, the authorities are telling us that there is nothing to worry about.  Unfortunately, just like seven years ago, a housing bubble is imploding and another great economic crisis is rapidly approaching.
Posted below is a chart of existing home sales in the United States during 2007.  As you can see, existing home sales declined precipitously throughout the year…
Existing Home Sales 2007
Now look at this chart which shows what has happened to existing home sales in the United States in recent months.  If you compare the two charts, you will see that the numbers are eerily similar…
Existing Home Sales Today
New home sales are also following a similar pattern.  In fact, we just learned that new home sales have collapsed to an 8 month low
Sales of new single-family homes dropped sharply last month as severe winter weather and higher mortgage rates continued to slow the housing recovery.
New home sales fell 14.5% to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 385,000, down from February’s revised pace of 449,000, the Census Bureau said.
Once again, this is so similar to what we witnessed back in 2007.  The following is a chart that shows how new home sales declined dramatically throughout that year…
New Home Sales 2007
And this chart shows what has happened to new homes sales during the past several months.  Sadly, we have never even gotten close to returning to the level that we were at back in 2007.  But even the modest “recovery” that we have experienced is now quickly unraveling…
New Home Sales Today
If history does repeat, then what we are witnessing right now is a very troubling sign for the months to come.  As you can see from this chart, new home sales usually start going down before a recession begins.
And don’t expect these housing numbers to rebound any time soon.  The demand for mortgages has dropped through the floor.  Just check out the following excerpt from a recent article by Michael Lombardi
One of the key indicators I follow in respect to the state of the housing market is mortgage originations. This data gives me an idea about demand for homes, as rising demand for mortgages means more people are buying homes. And as demand increases, prices should be increasing.
But the opposite is happening…
In the first quarter of 2014, mortgage originations at Citigroup Inc. (NYSE/C) declined 71% from the same period a year ago. The bank issued $5.2 billion in mortgages in the first quarter of 2014, compared to $8.3 billion in the previous quarter and $18.0 billion in the first quarter of 2013. (Source: Citigroup Inc. web site, last accessed April 14, 2014.)
Total mortgage origination volume at JPMorgan Chase & Co. (NYSE/JPM) declined by 68% in the first quarter of 2014 from the same period a year ago. At JPMorgan, in the first quarter of 2014, $17.0 billion worth of mortgages were issued, compared to $52.7 billion in the same period a year ago. (Source: JPMorgan Chase & Co. web site, last accessed April 14, 2014.)
It is almost as if we are watching a replay of 2007 all over again, and yet nobody is talking about this.
Everyone wants to believe that this time will be different.
The human capacity for self-delusion is absolutely amazing.
There are a lot of other similarities between 2007 and today as well.
Just the other day, I noted that retail stores are closing in the United States at the fastest pace that we have seen since the collapse of Lehman Brothers.
Back in 2007, we saw margin debt on Wall Street spike dramatically and help fuel a remarkable run in the stock market.  Just check out the chart in this article.  But that spike in margin debt also made the eventual stock market collapse much worse than it had to be.
And just like 2007, consumer credit is totally out of control.  As I noted in one recent article, during the fourth quarter of 2013 we witnessed the biggest increase in consumer debt in the U.S. that we have seen since 2007.  Total consumer credit in the U.S. has risen by 22 percent over the past three years, and 56 percent of all Americans have “subprime credit” at this point.
Are you starting to get the picture?  It is only 7 years later, and the same things that happened just prior to the last great financial crisis are happening again.  Only this time we are in much worse shape to handle an economic meltdown.  The following is a brief excerpt from my recent article entitled “We Are In FAR Worse Shape Than We Were Just Prior To The Last Great Financial Crisis“…
None of the problems that caused the last financial crisis have been fixed.  In fact, they have all gotten worse.  The total amount of debt in the world has grown by more than 40 percent since 2007, the too big to fail banks have gotten 37 percent larger, and the colossal derivatives bubble has spiraled so far out of control that the only thing left to do is to watch the spectacular crash landing that is inevitably coming.
You can read the rest of that article right here.
For a long time, I have been convinced that this two year time period is going to represent a major “turning point” for America.
Right now, 2014 is turning out to be eerily similar to 2007.
Will 2015 turn out to be a repeat of 2008?

Agenda 21: The BLM Land Grabbing Endgame

The Truth Wins
April 23, 2014
Agenda 21 Map
Why is the federal government so obsessed with grabbing more land?  After all, the federal government already owns more than 40 percent of the land in 9 different U.S. states.  Why are federal bureaucrats so determined to grab even more?  Well, the truth is that this all becomes much clearer once you understand that there is a very twisted philosophy behind what they are doing.  It is commonly known as “Agenda 21″, although many names and labels are used for this particular philosophy.  Basically, those that hold to this form of radical environmentalism believe that humanity is utterly destroying the planet, and therefore the goal should be to create a world where literally everything that we do is tightly monitored and controlled by control freak bureaucrats in the name of “sustainable development”.  In their vision of the future, the human population will be greatly reduced and human activity will be limited to strictly regulated urban areas and travel corridors.  The rest of the planet will be left to nature.  To achieve this goal, a massive transfer of land from private landowners to the federal government will be necessary.
So the conflict between Nevada rancher Cliven Bundy and the BLM is really just the tip of the iceberg.  The reality is that the BLM has their eyes on much bigger prizes.
For example, Breitbart is reporting that the BLM is looking at grabbing 90,000 privately-held acres along the Texas/Oklahoma border…
After the recent Bundy Ranch episode by the U.S. Bureau of Land Management (BLM), Texans are becoming more concerned about the BLM’s focus on 90,000 acres along a 116 mile stretch of the Texas/Oklahoma boundary. The BLM is reviewing the possible federal takeover and ownership of privately-held lands which have been deeded property for generations of Texas landowners.
Sid Miller, former Texas State Representative and Republican candidate for Texas Agriculture Commissioner, has since made the matter a campaign issue to Breitbart Texas.
“In Texas,” Miller says, “the BLM is attempting a repeat of an action taken over 30 years ago along the Red River when Tommy Henderson lost a federal lawsuit. The Bureau of Land Management took 140 acres of his property and didn’t pay him one cent.”
Needless to say, officials down in Texas are not pleased about this.  In fact, just check out what the attorney general of Texas is saying
Gen. Abbott sent a strongly-worded letter to BLM Director Neil Kornze, asking for answers to a series of questions related to the potential land grab.
“I am deeply concerned about the notion that the Bureau of Land Management believes the federal government has the authority to swoop in and take land that has been owned and cultivated by Texas landowners for generations,” General Abbott wrote. “The BLM’s newly asserted claims to land along the Red River threaten to upset long-settled private property rights and undermine fundamental principles—including the rule of law—that form the foundation of our democracy. Yet, the BLM has failed to disclose either its full intentions or the legal justification for its proposed actions. Decisions of this magnitude must not be made inside a bureaucratic black box.”
In an exclusive interview with Breitbart Texas, General Abbott said, “This is the latest line of attack by the Obama Administration where it seems like they have a complete disregard for the rule of law in this country …And now they’ve crossed the line quite literally by coming into the State of Texas and trying to claim Texas land as federal land. And, as the Attorney General of Texas I am not going to allow this.”
Does the federal government actually need more land?
As I mentioned above, the feds already own more than 40 percent of the land in 9 different U.S. states
Nevada: 84.5 percent
Alaska: 69.1 percent
Utah: 57.4 percent
Oregon: 53.1 percent
Idaho: 50.2 percent
Arizona: 48.1 percent
California: 45.3 percent
Wyoming: 42.4 percent
New Mexico: 41.8 percent
The federal government does not need more land.  But there is an obsession to grab more so that the dictates of Agenda 21 can be implemented.
The map that I have posted below is a simulation of what the endgame of Agenda 21 might look like.  If these radical environmentalists get their way, the only areas that will be allocated for normal human use will be the areas in green…
Agenda 21 Map
If you do not go along with the “sustainable development” agenda, you risk being labeled a “threat” to be dealt with.
For example, Senator Harry Reid has used the label “domestic terrorists” to describe those that showed up to support Cliven Bundy at his ranch.
Reid could have used lots of other labels.  But he specifically chose to call them terrorists.  And considering what the law allows the feds to do to “terrorists”, that is quite chilling.
And don’t think that if you just stay quiet that you won’t get labeled as a “terrorist”.  In fact, there is a very good chance that you already fit several government criteria for being a terrorist.  Just check out the list below.  It comes from my previous article entitled “72 Types Of Americans That Are Considered ‘Potential Terrorists’ In Official Government Documents“…
Do any of those criteria apply to you?
If so, then you are a “potential terrorist” according to the U.S. government.
We live at a time when the federal government is becoming increasingly oppressive.  Just consider the following excerpt from a recent article by John W. Whitehead
It’s not just the Cliven Bundys of the world who are being dealt with in this manner. Don Miller, a 91-year-old antiques collector, recently had his Indiana home raided by the FBI, ostensibly because it might be in the nation’s best interest if the rare and valuable antiques and artifacts Miller had collected over the course of 80 years were cared for by the government. Such tactics carried out by anyone other than the government would be considered grand larceny, and yet the government gets a free pass.
In the same way, the government insists it can carry out all manner of surveillance on us—listen in on our phone calls, read our emails and text messages, track our movements, photograph our license plates, even enter our biometric information into DNA databases—but those who dare to return the favor, even a little, by filming potential police misconduct, get roughed up by the police, arrested, charged with violating various and sundry crimes.
This was not what our founders intended.
Our liberties and freedoms are being eroded a little bit more with each passing day, and most Americans don’t even seem to care.
In the end, we will pay a great price for our apathy.
